Registration Instructions

  • Registration Platform: We are continuing to use the online platform Homeroom, which allows parents to sign up and track all enrichment classes in one place. You can create an account and add your children's information in advance at www.homeroom.com (recommended).
  • Class Offerings:  You can preview the class descriptions on our Homeroom Enrichment page here.
  • Registration Process: On Thursday, September 17 at 9pm ET, Enrichment enrollment will open on Homeroom. Enrollment will end on Thursday, September 24 at 9pm.
    • Tips
      1. Some classes fill up quickly. Please add yourself to the waitlist if the class fills up.
      2. You do not need to check out students individually. You can add all of the classes to your cart at once and then check out. Classes are held in your cart for 25 minutes.
      3. We cannot accommodate students after the registration period is over.
  • Aftercare: If your child is in aftercare, the on-site supervisor will bring your child back to aftercare at the end of the Enrichment class.
  • Scholarships: We are pleased to offer no cost tuition for students in each class. It is our goal that children can attend classes regardless of ability to pay. If you wish to seek financial assistance for your children to attend enrichment, please contact Principal Carr at bcarrclemente@montclair.k12.nj.us or the Enrichment Committee at enrichment@edgemontpta.org for support with your application.

 

 

Our After School Enrichment (ASE) program is an opportunity for kids to have new experiences, make new friends, and have fun! Launched and led entirely by PTA volunteers, ASE is committed to discovery, experimentation, and investigation. Many of our vendors are local to Montclair and our greater community; some vendors we have used in the past are Montclair Art Museum, Montclair Community Farms, Steam Urban, and Montclair Film Festival. 

There are 2-3 ASE sessions per school year - please look out for signup information via email. Classes are open for grades K-5, unless otherwise indicated. Please email us at enrichment@edgemontpta.org if you have any questions.  Got an idea for enrichment or have a skill you'd like to teach?  Let us know!

Schedule

Classes meet weekly at Edgemont School from 2:50pm-3:50pm. For students who regularly attend YMCA Aftercare, they will be dismissed from ASE to Aftercare. Class dates are subject to change; please refer to your weekly emails for updates. In the event of school closure due to inclement weather or instructor emergency/absence, a makeup date will be added and registered families will be notified via email. There will be no makeups for individual students due to absences or tardiness.

 

Offerings

Over recent semesters, our catalog has included Magic Art with Montclair Art Museum, Mindfully Me Self-Care Corner, Storybook Theater with Vanguard Theater, Improv 101 with Montclair Film, Culinary Creations, Gooey Slimy STEM, Simply Chess, Fun with Pottery, Secrets of Magic, Sewing, Soccer with NJ Pride FC, Photography, Stay and Play, Magic Reading Room, Junior Gardeners, Children's American Mahjong, Kidz Pop & K-Pop Dance, Crown and Confidence, Xylophone Music Foundations, Skateboarding, and Intro to Filmmaking. Full scholarships are available so every child can participate.

Registration

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. As most classes fill up very quickly, we encourage you to review the registration site prior to the start of the registration period.

Edgemont Homeroom Registration Site

A student is not registered for a class until purchase of the class has been completed in our enrollment site and payment submitted. All classes are subject to cancellation due to under-enrollment, or other reasons as deemed necessary and at the discretion of the ASE team. We cannot guarantee or hold spaces in any class for anyone who has not registered and paid for a class in full.

  • Add/Drop – Add/drop are allowed during registration period. When registration closes, there will be no refunds for dropping.
  • Costs – Tuition per class varies. The registration website contains schedule and price details for the current session. All class materials are provided at no additional charge.

Scholarships

The PTA is committed to sponsoring an ASE class for anyone in need of a scholarship. There is a limit of one free class per child per session. Please email enrichment@edgemontpta.org to request a scholarship. To have the best chance of getting into the class of your choice, scholarship requests should be submitted before registration opens.
