Kindergarten families are invited to meet one another before the school year begins! Join us on the playground behind the school for a fun morning of play and new friendships.
🌍 Multilingual Families Playdate
🗓️ August 23, 2026 | 🕓 4:00 p.m.
As one of two Montclair elementary schools that offers ESL services, Edgemont is home to many multilingual families who enrich our school community.
This playdate is an opportunity for families to meet, make connections, and help build a welcoming and inclusive community. If your family speaks a language other than English at home, or if you’re able to help with translation, we’d love for you to join us on the playground behind Edgemont!
🍦 Kindergarten & New Students Ice Cream Social

This is a wonderful opportunity for our newest Edgemont students to meet their teachers, drop off school supplies, and enjoy some ice cream before the big first day! We’ll meet behind the school.

Planning is underway for Friday, September 18! Help make this event a success by teaming up with PTA Vice President Georgette Lees.

🎃 Halloween Mash Chair
Help us throw an amazing Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 24!
🌸 Teacher & Staff Appreciation Committee
One of the most meaningful ways to thank our incredible teachers and staff! The heaviest lift for this will be leading up to and during Edgemont’s Teacher Appreciation Week (April 26–30).
🎈 Fun Day Chair
Help organize Edgemont’s most exciting day of the year happening on Friday, June 4!
💰 Fundraising Committee
Support the fundraising efforts that make so many PTA programs possible by teaming up with VP of Fundraising Nicole Ealey.
🤝 MFEE Liaison Partner
Cate Griffin has generously offered to return as our MFEE Liaison this year but would love a partner!
Here’s what the role includes:
- One kick-off meeting at the MFEE offices (about 2 hours).
- One morning in the teachers’ lounge (2–3 hours) to answer questions and discuss grant ideas.
- One 30-minute meeting with the PTA and Principal Carr-Clemente to review grant application ideas.
- One evening meeting at the MFEE offices to review grant applications.
